Contingency fees are invoiced to your account when unexpected circumstances arise. To avoid expensive contingency fees, transparency and open communication between client and editor are key to keeping costs as low as possible. 

                Clients occasionally present a project that cannot be completed on schedule unless editors agree to work additional hours at night, on weekends or on holidays. In such a case, a rush fee may be negotiated to cover the overtime involved.  

                Because our editors reserve time for projects and depend on clients’ schedules, it’s necessary for contracts to protect the editor’s working time. A late fee is assessed if the client doesn’t provide the manuscript so that work may begin on time.  

                Invoiced to your account if the project is cancelled after our editor has begun work on your manuscript or project.
